According to the table in 14 CFR 61.23 (d). the expiration date of your medical is based on your age "on the date of examination for your most recent medical certificate."
So, if you were 39 on the date of the examination, you're good for 60 months.
There is a possibility that the requirement to renew 3rd class medicals may go away completely soon. On Dec 15, 2015, the U.S. Senate passed the "Pilot's Bill of Rights 2". The bill would still need to be passed by the House and signed by the President before it would take effect. As of Dec 15, it had 152 co-sponsors of both parties in the House. According to AOPA:
Under the medical reforms of Pilot's Bill of Rights 2, most pilots who have held a valid third class medical, either regular or special issuance, within 10 years of the legislation’s enactment would never need to get another FAA medical exam. The rule would apply to pilots flying VFR or IFR in aircraft weighing up to 6,000 pounds and carrying up to five passengers at altitudes below 18,000 feet and speeds up to 250 knots.
Pilots who develop certain medical conditions, including a small list of specific cardiac, mental health, or neurological conditions, will have to get an FAA special issuance medical one time only, significantly reducing the time and money spent navigating the FAA’s medical bureaucracy.
For pilots who have not had a valid medical in the past 10 years and those who have never applied for and received a medical certificate, a one-time third class medical certification by an aviation medical examiner will be required. After a pilot has been medically certified once, either through the regular or special-issuance processes, he or she will also be able to fly indefinitely without needing to go through the FAA medical certification process again.

ipod classic 3rd generation (15 GB)
the ipod classic 3rd generation is one o. f the best ipods. It does not support videos or photos, and it has a black and white screen, but what makes it special is its unique design. unlike the other ipods this one was completely touch sensitive. The menu, forward, backward, and play/pause buttons light up in bright red to let you see them in the dark. It also was the first ipod to have backlight display, and the first one to be able to sinc with usb 2.0 with the 30-pin dock connector, but could only charge through FireWire or through a wall/car charger. This ipod could store many songs. It came in 10, 15, 20, 30, and 40 GB, which is enough for most people. However what i don't like about this ipod is that even if its taken care of, it will only last about 2-3 years and will need either hard drive repairs or a new battery installation. I still recommend you buy this ipod because it is really great even for its age.

Very nice old worthy, honorable product.
Good value if you have specific u. ses for this older generation iPod. I like it for my specific political podcasts while lounging at home or riding bike: I hit a bump with my last 3rd gen and the HD broke, so I got another reasonably priced one here. Batteries and HD's are easy to replace which is why I buy them!
Good for the iPod fanatic, OK for the casual user.
I bought this 3rd gener. ation iPod for the first time about three years ago. Although it only lasted a few months after I bought it (it broke), I decided to get another one in the past month or so after having a couple of Nanos.
Anyways, I like the simple black-and-white screen (I often found color models to be quite daunting at times, and the real purpose behind them of being able to watch videos and view photos never reached me.) The 15 GB size is fair enough to hold my moderate sized music collection, although some might prefer the extra few gigs for their videos.
The buttons are relatively easy to use, although I tend to lock the buttons because all are touch sensitive and sticking your hand in your pocket where the iPod is often will shut it off or suddenly change the volume, so some may think that the button layout makes it too sensitive to use.
Battery life is fair enough (most of these iPods of this generation have poor battery life anyways; the one I purchased had a replacement battery, and it is a plus with this generation of iPod.
Another thing is the lag time between when you choose the song and it begins playing. Anyone graduating from a flash-based player such as the Nano, Touch, or Shuffle may find it annoying that you have to wait 2 seconds for a song to play (although it is not a bad thing in my personal opinion.)
I really think for the price range (
$75-$100) it is worth the purchase price, especially for those who have a music collection of average size (
2000 songs). The menus are no harder to navigate than a larger-storage iPod, and you won't be able to find a better iPod price with the features that this model has.
Finally, the options available. Most of the cases and add-ons available have been sold out, so it might be a bit hard if you are looking for things such as a case or skin for this generation. On the iPod, only a simple shuffle is at the front; otherwise you have to navigate through the menus to turn it on.
Overall, although this is an older model iPod and doesn't possess a lot of the glitz and glamour that today's Nano and Touch possess, I still like it because of its simple and friendly approach, and even though it has a monochrome screen, I still find it more than adequate for my purposes. If you like the original iPod and its nostalgic value, then this is for you. Otherwise, aim for a newer generation iPod.

Ipod 3rd Generaton (not Nano)
I really love these Ipods! Even though they do. require that you charge them with a special Ipod firewire cable and jack plug. It's cool the way that the touch sensitive buttons on the front light up. Very unique. The one I purchased was in perfect condition with over a thousand songs on board. I think they didn't understand the need for the special cable to sink and charge it. This will most likely be the only style of Ipod I will use, as long as I can find batteries and parts. They don't do pictures. They have a monochrome screen. But they do have alarms, calendars and game features.
I repair Ipods for a hobby and I have 4 of these 3G Ipods. 2 came to me in great condition and 2 not but easily repaired.
I will have 2 of them for sale next month with good audio jacks, hard drives and new batteries. And the proper Ipod firewire cables and plug jack. Plus they will be Apple sauce cleaned and as pretty as they can get. Be watching and you to can have one of these unique and cool little Ipods too.
Ship operators usually employ several seafarers in different job positions to effectively run a sea vessel. Today a seafaring vessel is run with the help of advanced technologies which require effective management and proper maintenance to work. Each seafaring operative holds unique tasks and responsibilities which they must uphold at all times. Engineers on board a ship are responsible for machinery. A ship usually has too many complex units cramped up in a small space which require technical proficiency to be operated. An engineer looks after the propulsion system, engine, devices used for discharging and loading, electric power supply, fresh water generators and garbage incineration.Who is a Third Engineer?
The engineering department in a seafaring vessel is headed by the Chief Engineer whose work is to overlook the overall functioning of the ship's machinery. Following him, is the Second or First Assistant Engineer, and right after him comes the Third or Second Assistant Engineer.
The marine engineer class 3 jobs involve looking into the smooth operations of the auxiliary engines, boilers, fuel, condensate and feed systems. The Third Engineer drillship or naval vessel job requires the assigned candidate to have proper licence and certificate claiming his proficiency.
If a 3rd class power engineer holds a valid PIC endorsement (Person in Charge) for operations including fuel transfer, then the said officer is considered responsible for all fuelling jobs on the sea vessel. The jobs also differ somewhat depending on the resource used to run the ship. In case the ship operates on steam propulsion plants, the Third Engineer handles combustion control, boilers, condensate and feed pumps, soot blowers and fuel. For ships which run on gas and diesel, the Third Engineer needs to manage the auxiliary engines and boilers, air compressors, incinerators and fuel oil purifiers. What is the salary for 3rd engineer jobs?
The 3rd engineer salary has to be quite high considering the fact that a third class power engineer has to face a lot of hardships on the merchant or naval vessel. The 3rd engineer jobs at sea can be very demanding, and officers are often gone on missions that last for a long time. They also have to work in dangerous conditions which could turn out to be medically challenging. This is why 3rd engineers get well paid for all the work that they do, and along with their basic salary they get extra wages when they have to report for duties for an extensive period of time.
Work during the weekends and holidays will yield overtime pay and other additional benefits. Usually, a 3rd engineer receives a general salary of $40,000- $55,000 per annum. Some of the more lucrative companies might offer medical insurance for the crew and family as well, and sometimes the meal (during seafaring period) is free.3rd engineer vacancies
The 3rd engineer vacancy positions are not always very hard to come by. Many companies belonging to the private or public sector are always looking for professional crew to hire for their seafaring expeditions, and they often post job offers online on different websites. There is also a huge demand for 3rd engineer offshore job positions, especially for cruise ships and cargo. There are sites which list vacancies on 3rd engineer dp vessel.
Officers looking for 3rd Engineer Vacancy positions can either go job hunting on these sites where reputed recruiters post new employment opportunities, or they can sign up and create their own profile and list their skills. They can add their certifications and job experience, and any recruiter who might be interested can contact them. However, it is important to trust the right agency to find a new job, and applicants should do the necessary research work before making their move.
No matter what type of expectations a 3rd engineer might have, there are plenty of jobs available in passenger and cruise ships, tankers, cargo and container vessels.
3rd engineer jobs are really very taxing. But they are well paid with more benefits provided by reputed companies. A 3rd engineer officer needs to work for a long period of time on sea, away from family and friends, but the job rewards and perks are substantially higher than elsewhere for this very reason. Also, 3rd Engineers are extremely important members of the maritime crew, because their knowledge regarding the ship's machinery is absolutely indispensable.
The Chinese Navy has commissioned its third Type 052D Kunming-class destroyer, ‘Hefei’, armed with surface-to-surface missiles as its primary assault weapon. Beijing plans to build at least 10 warships of the Kunming class to enhance protection of the nation’s maritime interests.
The People’s Liberation Army Navy delivered the third Type 052D (NATO designation Luyang III class) destroyer Hefei (hull number 174) to the South Sea Fleet on Saturday. The vessel’s home base is the naval complex in Sanya, on the island province of Hainan, China Daily reports.
“My men have familiarized themselves with the advanced equipment and weapons [onboard the ship]. In the near future, we will focus on training, aiming to make the ship become fully operational within a short period,” Hefei’s captain, Commander Zhao Yanquan, told China Daily in an exclusive interview on Monday.
'Hefei', Chinese Navy's 3rd 'homegrown' vessel of Type 052D destroyer, was commissioned on Dec. 12 in Sanya, S China pic.twitter.com/NfXp5ckxze
“All posts on the vessel have been manned by my officers and sailors,” the commander said, noting that his new ship is “especially stronger in terms of target detection capacity and air defense capability” than the previous Type 052B he served on as deputy captain.
Launched on July 2, 2013, Hefei was constructed at Changxing Jiangnan naval shipyard near Shanghai, where 80 percent of all Type 052D destroyers will be built.
The first Type 052D destroyer Kunming (hull number 172) was commissioned in March 2014. The next, Changsha (hull number 173), entered service in August this year.
Armed with an unspecified number of surface-to-surface cruise missiles, air defense missiles, 130mm cannon and such cutting-edge technology as stealth low radar signature and advanced phased array radar antennae, the ship’s displacement is nearly 7,000 metric tons, which is bigger than the previous series.
The vessel can engage any targets on water and on the ground, be it ships, submarines, aircraft or stationary ground targets. Hefei is ready to conduct Network-Centric warfare in joint operations with other PLA ships and aircraft.
Deputy political commissar of the PLA Navy, Vice-Admiral Wang Dengping, specifically pointed out that Hefei is the most advanced destroyer ever built by China.
By its declared capabilities, a Type 052D Kunming-class destroyer could be compared to the American AEGIS destroyers.
China’s next stage Type 055 destroyer is in development now, revealed Yin Zhuo, director of the PLA Navy's Expert Consultation Committee. Future Chinese destroyers are planned to be much larger, with displacement of about 10,000 metric tons, allowing them to take aboard as many as 100 cruise missiles.
The ignorant vilification and unethical suppression of natural, plant-based approaches to medical issues of both a mental and physical nature has long been exposed for the world to see.
However, usually the proponents of pharmaceutically-derived mechanistic medicine point to the high success of the industry, but considering that in the US alone around 290 people die from prescription drugs each day and over 250 thousand people are dying from medical errors each year. this is simply not true.
A Discovery article makes it clear why medical errors are the 3rd leading cause of death in the United States of America:
People don’t just die from bacteria and heart plaque, they die from communication breakdowns, fragmented healthcare, diagnostic mistakes, and over-dosing,” said Martin Makary, a professor at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore and lead author of the study.
They also refer to the suspicious lack of reporting of medical errors that the US and other governments of the world fail to publicise:
Along with more than 100 other nations, the United States uses a system for collecting national health statistics — recommended by the World Health Organization — that does not keep track of medical errors.
This obviously brings the entire medical paradigm into question. Of course there have been many amazing successes from the modern approach to medical care, such as surgery and some pharmaceuticals. These tools have been an invaluable addition to humanity, yet how do we know which so-called modern medicines are actually worthy to disperse at large and which are not?
How do we know when a really important medicine has been developed in comparison to a pill that is primarily for profit?
How do we know when a pharma drug is unncessary because there are more natural and effective remedies available?
When we consider the corruption and collusion that exists within an industry that has been monopolised as part of the corporatocracy, it really is difficult to know. As I spelled out in a previous article :
Anybody with any knowledge on the medical industry will know that it has long been corrupted by big money and big pharma. It is important that we start off with this established truth, because we have to understand that the pharmaceutical-industrial complex will one day be looked at by the mainstream mentality as we now look at the tobacco industry. deceptive, fraudulent, criminal and unethical.
To crystallize this point, in the same article I refer to the great journalism provided in a Collective Evolution article :
In the past few years more professionals have come forward to share a truth that, for many people, proves difficult to swallow. One such authority is Dr. Richard Horton, the current editor-in-chief of the Lancet – considered to be one of the most well respected peer-reviewed medical journals in the world.
Dr. Horton recently published a statement declaring that a lot of published research is in fact unreliable at best, if not completely false.
“The case against science is straightforward: much of the scientific literature, perhaps half, may simply be untrue. Afflicted by studies with small sample sizes, tiny effects, invalid exploratory analyses, and flagrant conflicts of interest, together with an obsession for pursuing fashionable trends of dubious importance, science has taken a turn towards darkness.”
In the same article, another confronting truth is quoted by Dr. Marcia Angell, a longtime medical journal editor:
“It is simply no longer possible to believe much of the clinical research that is published, or to rely on the judgment of trusted physicians or authoritative medical guidelines. I take no pleasure in this conclusion, which I reached slowly and reluctantly over my two decades as an editor of the New England Journal of Medicine.”
Keeping this in mind, when we combine it with the serious concerns that many truth-seekers have regarding the profit-before-morality model that has slithered its way into the various control-systems which influence every aspect of our lives, it becomes clear that the medical-industrial complex and our pursuit for effective health-care needs to be immediately tabled for an open, transparent and unbiased investigation to occur.
Seriously, how long can we as a society allow this dysfunction to harm not just ourselves, but our kids too?
How long will the masses just pretend that tribal cultures didn’t have access to a plethora of plant medicines which heal and develop the mind, body and soul?
How long will governments practically ignore the abundant clinical proof that meditation is both a preventative and prescriptive tool for ill-health?
Simply, there are many natural, plant-based medicines that have been clinically proven to be a highly effective tool for healing the body and growing the mind. Many of these substances are illegal, however, which is just another reason why the war-on-drugs has been an epic failure.
As I explained at length in an earlier article titled “The Problem is Drug Law, Not Drugs ”:
It is clear that many governments of the world have failed to truly accept some extremely important facts around dealing with the substances that make their way through our communities. Examples include:
It’s not just so-called illegal substances that are high in therapeutic and developmental potential, other basic ingredients such as bicarbonate soda have been shown to help the body to heal itself, even of cancerous tumours. Various herbs are also on the list of helpful ingredients that combat illness.
In any case, regardless of the many negative impacts that the war-on-drugs has subjected to our individual and collective health, the longer we allow the governments of the world to continue to spread ignorance and fear towards what really are ancient, well-established and clinically-proven approaches to caring for ourselves, the longer we allow the corporatisation of our system to run rampant and the longer the potential benefits to our society are missed opportunities.
In addition, the best approach to health is preventative care. That means along with tools such as meditation, eating nutritious and natural foods will always help to maintain the balance of the mind and body.
The truth is that the corrupted pharmaceutical-industrial complex and their increasingly toxic medicines, as well as a prescriptive instead of a preventative medical model, has hijacked our approach to health-care and treatment. This is a world that we have consented to; the sooner we stand up as a people and demand that it change, the sooner we will reconnect with the natural therapies and re-nourish our collective spirit.
Richard Dawkins, who hilariously refuses to expand his consciousness beyond the child’s play of the classical world, said: “There is no alternative medicine. There is only medicine that works and medicine that doesn’t work ”. This is something that we can no doubt agree with, so let’s hope that as a species we can finally show some intelligence and morality by calling out this toxic approach to health and vitality and open up the global gates to a valid investigation into the benefits of all substances, both natural and designed.
Furthermore, the following short video discusses some simple techniques for meditation. If you’re feeling stressed, anxious, sad or angry in general, or if you’ve got a persistent physical health issue that just won’t go away, meditation has the potential to effectively and efficiently mitigate dysfunctional mental states and poor health in general. Enjoy and please share.Leave a Reply
