Directions: From Puduraya, turn left into Jalan Sultan. At the next corner, turn left again into Jalan Hang Jebat and the Olympic Hotel is situated on a side road just after the YWCA. Parking is available at the back of the hotel.
Info / Insights: Formerly known as Grand Olympic Hotel, the hotel is part of the Olympic Council of Malaysia (OCM)'s headquarters building (Wisma OCM) which opened in 1991. The complex is also occupied by several National Sports Associations affiliated to the OCM (http://www.olympic.org.my/ )
The 155-room hotel has the usual facilities like conference rooms, restaurants and wi-fi blanket. Although the Olympic Hotel is sandwiched between noisy Chinatown (Jalan Sultan / Petaling Street) and busy Jalan Hang Tuah . the corner is surprisingly cozy and serene. What was once the sports capital of Malaysia, is now a quiet enclave with occasional activities. After the opening of the Bukit Jalil Sports Complex, iconic Stadium Merdeka and Stadium Negara were relegated into lifeless, forlorn monuments.
Jalan Hang Jebat was previously known as Davidson Road.
